So there's been a lot of debate on whether the effect of Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor being able to Synchro summon will be negated or not by Shiny Black "C"'s effect.
Blackwing - Vayu the Emblem of Honor's text reads:
"If this card is face-up on the field, you cannot use it for a Synchro Summon. If this card is in your Graveyard, you can remove from play this card plus 1 non-Tuner "Blackwing" monster in your Graveyard, and Special Summon 1 "Blackwing" Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck whose Level equal the total Levels of the removed monsters. The effect(s) of that Synchro Monster is negated."
now... let's take a look at Shiny Black "C"'s text:
"When 1 Synchro Monster is Special Summoned on your opponent's side of the field, you can remove from play this card in the Graveyard to destroy that monster."
So, with all that been said, I don't understand why people thinks that Shiny can't negate Vayu's special summon because it clearly states on Vayu's text to special summon 1 Blackwing Synchro monster and that IS what Shiny's text negates -- a Synchro Monster when special summoned.
I just wanted to clear this up with everyone considering every video posted with a Shiny vs. Vayu, people usually comments stating that it can't happen.
Overall, I have cleared this ruling with many people and lots of judges I might add that YES, Shiny Black "C"s effect DOES work on Vayu's Effect.
I think people thought Shiny C negaetd the summon as well...then when people found out it didnt, the stardust spam began, lol.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if anyone has pointed this out or not, but Shiny C doesn't actually _negate_ anything, it simply destroys the monster AFTER it has been summoned.
ReplyDeleteThat said, one can use Vayu to synchro summon a synchro monster, and after it's been synchroed, Shiny C can destroy it with its effect (same timing as Bottomless Trap Hole, Torrential Tribute, etc).
Just sayin~.
